Code for GovTech (C4GT) is India's flagship open-source programme that invites engineering students to contribute to Digital Public Goods — the digital infrastructure that powers Aadhaar, ABDM health stack, DIKSHA education platform and hundreds of other government services. As an AICTE partner, C4GT brings structured mentored open-source internships to the National Internship Portal, giving students the rare opportunity to write code that runs at national scale.

Eligibility & what you get

Who can apply, and what it is worth

The programme is open through your existing AICTE profile. Project assignment and mentorship pairing are handled by the C4GT team based on your skill set and the DPG you choose.

Who can apply

Students in computer science, IT, MCA or any engineering branch with practical coding experience in JavaScript, Python, Java or any modern web framework.

Duration

C4GT cohorts run 8–12 weeks, fully remote. The exact cohort window and DPG assignment are stated on each posting.

Certificate on completion

An official C4GT open-source contribution certificate issued on successful PR merges — plus a public commit history on India's DPG repos that any employer can verify.

One profile, every posting

The AICTE profile you already have applies here. No separate C4GT registration, no second document upload.
