AICTE Idea Lab is a nationwide network of innovation and prototyping labs set up inside engineering colleges under the Ministry of Education. Internships place students directly inside these labs — designing PCBs, printing 3D parts, programming robots and building IoT prototypes — under the mentorship of faculty innovators and industry experts. Every project solves a real problem and ends with a working prototype you built yourself.

Who can apply
Students in any engineering discipline — mechanical, ECE, CSE, EEE, civil or design — with curiosity to build hardware or software prototypes from scratch.
Duration
Short tinkering tracks run 4–6 weeks on-site at the lab; project-linked product development placements run 2–4 months.
Certificate on completion
An official AICTE Idea Lab innovation and prototyping certificate issued on successful project delivery, endorsed by the Ministry of Education.
