About the program

This is a course offered by the Australian Institute of Advanced Technologies. This subject equips students to thrive in nextgen data science teams, driving the application of cuttingedge techniques to craft innovative solutions. Emphasizing a software engineering approach, the course imparts essential knowledge of software engineering concepts and techniques, empowering students to contribute effectively to team projects and refine their own workflows. Students will navigate the intersection of data science and software engineering, advocating for a harmonious blend of both disciplines. They will engage in teambased projects, utilizing a structured process for analyzing, designing, and developing software that integrates data science technologies. The curriculum covers requirement analysis using a modified agile approach, system architecture assessment, and the implementation of security and reliability measures in data science applications. Reflective exercises will help students identify areas for future learning and career growth, ensuring they are wellprepared for the evolving landscape of data science and software engineering. AIAT is accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency TEQSA of the Australian Government. We also collaborate in the areas of business and technology with the Future Skills Organisation a Jobs and Skills Council funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. Additionally,we are an Educational Member of the World Design Organization WDO an organisation with a United Nations Special Consultative Status, and we are members of the Forbes Technology Council. We are partners with the UKbased education consultancy, Mind Makers, for a joint development and delivery of bespoke AIfocused Executive Education. We are also partners of the Global Cyber Alliance GCA an organisation founded by the City of London Police and the District Attorney of New York County. With them we collaborate on projects sponsored by the Mastercard Foundation e.g., Cybersecurity Toolkit for Small Businesses and Amazon e.g., CyberFlex. We are also pleased to collaborate with Microsoft on the introduction of new learning experiences via the Microsoft Data AI Bootcamp. AIAT is also proud to partner with the Oxford University Society of South Australia on the delivery of the 2024 Annual Oxford Lecture.
