About the program

Ministry of Cooperation was created by transferring the existing entries related to cooperation and cooperative in the business of the erstwhile Ministry of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare vide Cabinet Secretariats Notification No 1/21/7/2021-Cab dated 6th July 2021 with the mandate of strengthening of cooperative movement in the country and deepening its reach up to the grassroots Cooperatives in the country have a grassroot presence are characterized by their democratic functioning inclusive nature The Cooperative movement holds the key for scaling up of rural livelihood opportunities and catapulting rural economic growth Cooperative details are currently contained in data silos at the district level under the jurisdiction of respective registration authority of Cooperative Societies A consolidated authentic available database of cooperatives is not available presently owing to which the effectiveness of policy initiatives is constrained

The National Cooperative Database Internship opportunity offered by the Ministry of Cooperation and implemented via AICTE collaboration and technology support invites local students participation in addressing this gap in identification of data of cooperatives across all districts in the country and thereby providing the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of their district the country Students shall have the opportunity to work at a District level Government office and understand and gain experience of professional work culture The Internship shall engage local student for collecting data pertaining to identification of basic details kind of activities undertaken and geotagging of PACS Dairy and Fishery cooperatives within a specific district with the ultimate aim of creating a National Cooperative Database

Eligibility Selection Criteria
  1. Diploma Undergraduate or Graduate interns from Social Sciences Sociology/Economics or Management background may be preferred however all students from all educational disciplines are eligible
  2. Interns must reside in the District HQs or within close proximity and should be fluent in the regional language
  3. Interns must have a good grasp of working with ComputersMobiles and basic knowledge of MS Office
  4. Interns is required to use own Smart Mobile Phone (Android), Tablet, Laptop for data entry
  5. Interns should be able to quickly adopt the prescribed data collection processes quality standards of data entry and working understanding of Cooperatives and their functioning in the country
  6. Interns should be selfmotivated and committed to unlocking the potential of the cooperative movement
Selection Process
  1. Registration of Ministry of Cooperation on AICTE Internship Portal
  2. Notification/advertisement for engaging interns on AICTE Internship Portal
  3. As per ToR of notification Eligible students from nearby locations will apply for these opportunities
  4. Ministry of Cooperation in collaboration with AICTE will shortlist the meritorious student
  5. Ministry will release the offer letter to shortlisted interns
  6. Shortlisted interns would be imparted 2 to 3 days training in virtual mode by MOC in collaboration with AICTE
  7. MoC will attached trained interns to District/Regional/State Registrar Office for data collection
Monitoring Governance Structure
  1. Intern shall be assigned with a predefined number of cooperatives within the district along with weekly data collection targets
  2. AICTE Admin and Implementation team shall monitor overall performance of the interns and ensure that the weekly minimum and overall data collection targets are met
  3. Ministry of Cooperation Admin shall have access to overall reporting and MIS dashboards and shall be able to track the progress at the various district levels
  4. District RCS shall have separate login access to the software application and shall facilitate and monitor allocated interns
  5. Award of Internship Certificate and payment of Stipend would be made on completion of assignment
General Guidelines and Benefits to Student
  1. Interns shall have to meet the minimum cooperative data collection targets set for each week in addition to the overall target set for the internship Dashboard shall indicate the high and low performers
  2. Interns shall have to bear any food and travel expenses incurred during the course of the internship and this amount shall not be reimbursed by Ministry of Cooperation
  3. Monitoring mechanisms shall review students accuracy of data collection and sampling shall be used to determine the accuracy of overall data collected
  4. Monitoring Mechanisms shall also log attendance by determining the number of days for which Intern submits cooperatives data
  5. Paid internship opportunity with Stipend of Rs 10000 offered for completion of internship scope objectives within the prescribed duration Students completing the Internship shall receive Participation Certificates from Ministry of Cooperation and AICTE
  6. Once Interns submits data collected for assigned cooperatives the application workflow shall send request to the District RCS officer for approval for satisfactory performance with District RCS approval Stipend amount shall be disbursed directly to Intern Bank account through DBT transfer mode
