About the program
Internship Description: National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), is seeking a Urban Planing Intern with a background in Urban Design or Urban Planning. There is a lot of opportunity to collaborate, learn and ideate, as well as interact with many partners. Potential candidates should be interested in research and publications under the urban, climate and gender lens. Proficiency in software like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must. Designing infographics is an additional asset. Responsibilities - Research and design support for knowledge products of NIUA - Design thinking for publications and other modes of presentation - Ideating on new projects in the pipeline - Coordination and collaboration with internal and external partners - Design collaterals for partnering events - Creating databases and repositories for the Various projects of NIUA - Collect and analyze data related to land use, demographics, transportation, and infrastructure. - Assist in preparing reports, maps, and visual presentations to support planning projects. Skills, Qualifications & Experience - Experience: 0-2 years - Qualification: preferably Urban Design or Urban Planning or any other design education equipped with technical knowledge of climate action and urban development - Software knowledge: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Rhino - Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Basic understanding of urban planning principles and regulatio
