About the program
The Nagar Nigam Dehradun is the civic or urban local body that governs the city of Dehradun in Uttarakhand, India. It covers an area of 196 square km, comprising of 5 zones which is further divided into 100 municipal wards. The basic functionalities of NND includes Urban Planning, Property tax assessment, Planning for economic and social development, public health, sanitation conservancy, and Solid Waste Management to name a few. Nagar Nigam Dehradun invites applications for SANITATION AND SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT INTERN from Students, fresh Graduates under TULIP program initiative. Wherein student will have the opportunity to learn about current waste management practices, community engagement and outreach efforts by our Sanitary Inspectors. The students will also learn about policy formulation, implementation and day to day operations.

It also includes conducting research, analyzing data, and developing recommendations to improve the quality of life for people living in cities, along with working with the officials and stakeholders to develop policies, and developing recommendations for policy changes.

Terms of Engagement
1. Applications for internship will be accepted through the portal only. 2. Interns shall bring laptops, mobile internet connectivity and other devices etc. as needed by them. 3. The interns shall normally arrange their own boarding or lodging and transport to and from their place of stay to the place of internship. 4. Nagar Nigam Dehradun will support the interns, in whatever way they may deem fit, with resources essential for completion of the assignment as per its discretion. 5. The interns shall be required to maintain confidentiality of all the documents and reports, or any information received by him or her during his or her internship period. The interns shall not reveal to any person or organisation any information relating to Nagar Nigam Dehradun, its work and policies. The interns may also be required to sign a confidentiality agreement mentioning appropriate terms and prior to the commencement of the internship. 6. This internship is neither a job nor an assurance of a job in Nagar Nigam Dehradun. 7. Notice period of one week will have to be given prior to leaving the internship and the intern shall not leave the internship without being relieved by Nagar Nigam Dehradun.
