About the program
As a part of the commitments to UNESCO for the World Heritage Site of Jaipur City, a Special Area Heritage Plan is being prepared by the Heritage Cell. It is structured to cover all aspects including history and evolution, state of conservation of attributes, landuse, demographics, social mapping, services, infrastructure, traffic and transport, interpretation, tourism and risk management, legislation and management framework and the phasing and implementation - to protect, conserve and manage the city's Outstanding Universal Value. The scope of work for Conservation Architect (Intern) shall largely involve supervision of on-field surveys, photography and documentation of structures for a comprehensive GIS-based inventory of 40,000+ structures in the Walled City of Jaipur. It shall also involve other historical research, architectural documentation, report writing, design exercises, photography and data collection as per the requirement. Applicants must be in possession of a valid B.Arch degree and a Masters degree in Architectural Conservation, be willing to conduct extensive sitework and physical surveys and have an interest in historic architecture and planning. They must have knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and MS Excel.
