About the program
Assessment of Urban Poverty Reduction Plan with Urban Local Body plan integration for the financial years 2022&23, 2023&24, and UPRP preparation for 2024&25. Identify the business opportunities in production, service, and trading sectors, and also from innovative service enterprises in urban areas with a special focus on enterprises initiated under the Self Employment Program component of Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihood Mission. How the initiation of Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihood Mission by Kudumbashree benefited the Urban Poor. Preparing Case studies of three success stories and best practices based on Micro Enterprises, Social mobilization, Employment through Skill Training, and Placement training in Urban Local Bodies formed under the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihood Mission. Details about the internship program This internship will be at the Urban Local body level. There will be 93 interns, one intern will be placed in each ULB. Each intern will be assigned three topics for study, which need to be completed within two months. The Stipend will be provided on successful completion, and on report submission to Kudumbashree State Mission. Responsibilities of the Intern The respective intern has to study the concept of all the projects assigned to him or her. Discuss with elected representatives, officials of ULBs Secretary, CPO, and DAY NULM staff and thereby understand the current position of the project. Conduct field visits and provide suggestions and recommendations of findings on each project to interns assigned at Kudumbashree State Mission. The intern has to assess the integration of the Urban Poverty Reduction Plan with the Urban Local Body plan for the financial years 2022& 23, and 2023&24 and UPRP preparation and integration for 2024&25. Prepare a comprehensive report, based on the study conducted. Detailed analysis with suggestions for better implementation and integration. Identify the scope or business opportunities in urban areas' production, service, and trading sectors, provide suggestions for improving these units, and formulate strategies to elevate these enterprises to the next level. The gaps in existing units and suggestions for improvement should be provided. The respective intern needs to prepare three successful life stories of the beneficiaries who benefited under the NULM scheme, which has helped transform their lifestyle. Relevant skills required 1. Ability to learn new concept 2. Good communications skills 3. Proficiency in English and Malayalam 4. Proficiency in MS office.
The intern will get an opportunity to learn about the scheme, the concept of the program, and its objectives. Will get an opportunity to liaison with stakeholders ULB, Community, and beneficiaries. Will get a broad idea of the interventions of Kudumbashree and the urban Ministry in addressing the livelihood of Urban Poor. Will get an idea about the prevalent market scenario in the ULB. Will get an idea about the developing strategies and trends in the field of micro enterprises
