Interns typically work under supervision in firms, corporate legal departments, or government agencies to gain practical experience, draft contracts, and conduct legal research.Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Research: Conducting research on case law, statutes, and regulatory changes (e.g., GDPR, intellectual property).Document Drafting & Review: Assisting with the drafting, redlining, and reviewing of contracts, agreements, and pleadings.Case Management & Support: Organizing case files, preparing documents for court, and maintaining trackers for ongoing litigation or compliance.Compliance & Regulatory Work: Supporting audits, updating internal compliance databases, and monitoring regulatory developments.Administrative Support: Assisting with client correspondence, scheduling, and filing.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Currently enrolled in an LL.B, LL.M, or JD program (penultimate or final year preferred).Research Skills: Proficiency in legal research databases.Writing Ability: Strong drafting skills for legal memos and correspondence.Attention to Detail: High accuracy in reviewing documents.Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Common Internship Focus AreasCorporate/In-House: Focusing on SaaS agreements, NDAs, and corporate governance.Policy/Regulatory: Mapping regulatory requirements to business compliance.Litigation: Preparing evidence and observing court proceedings.
