About the program

The Healthcare Analyst Internship provides students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the US healthcare payer and provider ecosystem. Interns will work on real world datasets and learn how healthcare processes operate within insurance, claims, enrollment, and clinical information systems. The role focuses on developing analytical, documentation, and reporting skills that are essential for healthcare technology and business analysis careers. During the internship, students will learn the basics of claims processing, electronic data interchange, eligibility verification, coordination of benefits, and pricing concepts. They will participate in requirement gathering sessions, prepare documentation, and contribute to process improvement discussions. Interns will also work on sample data using mock claims, eligibility files, and healthcare coding reference material to understand how information flows across systems. The internship includes hands on tasks such as creating reports, analyzing trends, identifying data quality issues, and supporting test case preparation. Interns will learn how to interpret provider, payer, and member data and how healthcare organizations make operational decisions using data. Exposure to tools such as spreadsheets, dashboards, and simple querying techniques will also be provided. This role is suitable for students who have strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and interest in healthcare or information technology. By the end of the internship, students will gain a solid foundational understanding of healthcare operations, health insurance workflows, and the skills required for roles such as Business Analyst, Healthcare Analyst, or Product Analyst in the healthcare technology domain.

Terms of Engagement

Interns must attend all mandatory training sessions and complete assignments on time. They must maintain professionalism and submit weekly progress reports. All training material and project work remains the property of the organization. Interns must not share any information outside the internship group. Non compliance with participation or conduct guidelines may lead to termination from the internship.
